Asphalt and gravel roof installation

The installation of asphalt and gravel on rooftop remains an economical alternative for the protection of roofs despite the release of more environmentally friendly materials such as EPDM or TPO. This method consists of 4 or 5 layer of black paper, sealed with hot asphalt. Thereafter, the roof must be covered with gravel to minimize damage caused by UV rays and reduce the deterioration of asphalt caused by big temperature gap. This type of roof is used for flat roofs or low slopes, as it offers good strength and a lifespan of 15-20 years.
